Department Organization

In order to achieve its vision and mission, the Department has been organized into five divisions:

Biostatistics and Epidemiology
This Division supports design and analysis of clinical and translational research at the medical college and serves as an academic home for biostatistics and epidemiology.

Comparative Effectiveness and Outcomes Research
This division pursues comparative effectiveness and outcomes research related to medications, medical devices, procedures, and healthcare delivery interventions.

Health Informatics
This division explores the use and effects of information technology in healthcare and the intelligent use of data to inform policy and decision making.

Health Policy and Economics
This division focuses on organization, payment methods, and processes used to improve quality in the U.S. healthcare system and makes recommendations for improving medical care quality and lowering costs.

Healthcare Delivery Science and Innovation
This division will enhance the health system at the micro level to improve care in the real world. It will implement new models of care using many elements, including the techniques of implementation science. This division will focus on the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient-centered clinical innovations.
