Post-Doctoral Position

Division of Health Policy and Economics

Healthcare Policy & Research at Weill Cornell Medicine, located in New York City, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow in behavioral health economics and services research. This position is funded through a multi-site T32 program hosted by Dartmouth, Cornell, the University of Michigan, and the University of Washington. The program at Weill Cornell has a focus on health services research about co-existing mental health and substance use conditions, including care delivery models, health outcomes, and economic outcomes.

At Weill Cornell, the fellow will work closely with Dr. Yuhua Bao on policy issues related to implementation of innovative interventions for middle aged and older adults with behavioral health conditions and co-morbid medical conditions. The fellow will also have the opportunity to work with Dr. Bruce R. Schackman, Director of the Center for Health Economics of Treatment Interventions for Substance Use Disorder, HCV, and HIV (CHERISH), a NIDA-funded national Center of Excellence, and benefit from the research networks and resources of this Center. The fellow will benefit from the collective networks of the T32 faculty and fellows at all four sites via research-in-progress webinars, subject-area mentoring, and other training activities.

Healthcare Policy & Research provides a multi-disciplinary and stimulating environment to prepare the fellow for an independent career in behavioral health services, health policy, and comparative effectiveness research. This is a two-year position and is immediately available. Applicants must have a doctorate in behavioral or social sciences (psychology, economics, epidemiology, health services research, public policy, sociology, and other related fields), a doctorate in nursing, or be a medical physician with relevant training. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative analytical skills and strong writing and communication skills. U.S. citizens or permanent residents only.
