Hassan Ghomrawi, Ph.D., M.P.H., Assistant Professor of Healthcare Policy and Research, specializes in health economics and patient-reported outcomes research, with particular interests in the field of orthopedics and post-acute rehabilitation care. Dr. Ghomrawi is the recipient of a K99/R00 career development award from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development to study the impact of discordant patient-surgeon expectations on joint arthroplasty outcomes. In addition to his interest in patient expectations and patient-reported outcomes, he is interested in evaluating the cost effectiveness of orthopedic devices and interventions, and in evaluating the appropriateness of care. He holds a joint appointment at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) is currently the head of the cost effectiveness lab in the newly established Healthcare Research Institute and is co-director of the AHRQ funded registry of total joint replacement that is evaluating outcomes in orthopedic and medical devices.
